2M: Murray, Mihos helping Patrick

September 24, 2006 By benny

Happened to have on Ch 5 news this morning, during their Gov race weekend segment (it looked like Deval might be taking a needed day off)they had Murray up against Healey in contrasting spots – Murray came off very well, really solid.  I voted for Silbert but am increasingly happy that Murray won – they are something of a dream team for electability.

Meanwhile I love the new Christy nightime-only ad!  I’m really surprised this isn’t getting more blog attention on this site.  It is already generating signficant free media coverage due to its off-color noteriety.  Christy is leading a charge on the big dig – this can only help, it raises questions about what Healey did and just as importantly, didn’t do.  As an outsider, Patrick has clean hands on the big dig.

The p.1 article in today’s Sunday Globe on the use of past criminal records was positioned in such a way that really helped Patrick – his “frame” defined the story.

There’s another interesting paragraph in today’s Globe:

Mihos, a leading critic of Big Dig mismanagement, said Healy is part of the problem because, as chairwoman of the Republican state committee in 2001, she sided with acting Governor Jane Swift in her efforts to fire Mihos from the panel that oversees the Big Dig. Mihos, who went to court to fight his firing from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority board, said that Healey referred to Swift at the time as her “hero.”

Just keep an eye on that blonde in Mihos’ cartoon ad.
