Thursday evening: BBQ, Murray, and Silbert

September 4, 2006 By David

This Thursday, please join us at Jimmy Tingle’s Off-Broadway Theatre in Davis Square, Somerville (map) for an excellent dinner of Redbones award-winning BBQ, comedy by Jimmy Tingle, and Tingle’s on-stage interviews with LG candidates Tim Murray and Andrea Silbert (Deb Goldberg was invited but declined).

Order tickets now!

Since I’m still undecided in the LG race, I’m expecting that how Murray and Silbert handle being interviewed on stage by a standup comic will figure prominently in my decision of whom to support!  I figure that if they can handle that high-pressure situation, they can handle pretty much anything Beacon Hill can throw at them.

There’s also a Gov debate that night at 7, which we’ll be listening to in the theatre while finishing up the ribs and pulled pork.  Here’s the lineup for the whole evening, which costs only $20 including dinner (there will also be a cash bar):

6 PM – 7:30 PM:  Buffet served in the theater.

7 PM – 8 PM: Audio broadcast of Gubernatorial Debate played in theater.

8 PM – 9 PM: Comedy performance by Jimmy Tingle.

9 PM – 10 PM: Taping of “Tingle Television” (by Somerville Cable TV) with Lieutenant Governor candidates Andrea Silbert and Tim Murray, and Middlesex County Clerk of Court candidates Bruce Desmond and Michael Sullivan.

Order tickets now!

Hope we’ll see you there.

I believe that should read candidates Bruce Desmond and Michael Sullivan.

(And that’s Michael Sullivan of Cambridge, the city councillor and former mayor. There are several other elected officials in eastern Mass. who share the name.)

She has a meeting in New Bedford. (Just kidding, but she did say No).

I think I may go, especially since I noticed on the website there was a student discount for broke college guys such as myself (and they’ll be airing the Gov debate).
