A bit of Berkshire news

October 22, 2006 By michael-forbes-wilcox

I’ve posted a short comment, plus a link to the Beagle article, about a press conference in Pittsfield on Friday.

Several local officials spoke in defense of Deval Patrick. The most vigorous endorsements were given by people who had been Reilly supporters before the Primary. If we had wanted to invent a way to unite all Democrats, we would have asked Kerry Healey to air some attack ads.

Bonus: I’m on the left in the picture, holding a Patrick-Murray sign.

And this was very simlar to what we did in Lowell…only the Sun sucks so badly, it’s editors are so biased, we got a tiny blurb with a badly written title with no photo on the second page. This, with Meehan and Panagiotakos showing up, plus a few city councilors. Sad. That paper’s such a rag, but it doesn’t have to be.

Deval was here on Saturday, and the Beagle did a big spread. There was also extensive coverage, with sound bites, on WAMC (the Albany NPR station) today.

Patrick has visited the Berkshires at least a half dozen times during this campaign, and I don’t think Healey has set foot in Berkshire County in the four years since she took office. Ross and Mihos came out for a couple of debates this summer, but have have no events of their own, to my knowledge.
