ConCon: yes, we’re still debating marriage

November 9, 2006 By David

After a brief respite in which you have had the opportunity to consider Curt Schilling, beer, and a blogger party, here’s an update on the marriage debate:

It’s still going.

Marie Parente is up now urging the “let the people vote” position.  It’s unclear to me whether she’s talking about Q19 or Q20.  Actually, it’s unclear to me whether she knows which one she’s talking about…. OK, Parente’s done, and Rep. Kaufman is up….

Rep. Goguen is up now.  This should be good…. Goguen was mercifully brief (if totally incoherent).  Rep. Reinstein is up now…. She’s done, and Rep. Loscocco (R-Holliston) is up now, and says there should be “universal outrage” that the SJC usurped the power of the legislature.  He’s making a peculiar and, I think, incorrect legal argument.  Very strange speech….

They voted you out of office.  And I personally know several of your constituents who got involved in your primary opponent’s campaign specifically because of your position on this issue.

She doesn’t like evolution or immigrants, either!  I think she is also distinctly against labor unions, iirc.

Is this on the radio or webcast anywhere – those of us in the western part of the state don’t necessarily get WGBH.

WC is giving an opinion about one of the many reasons why Marie wasn’t re-elected!

Where do I have to move to run against one of these lunatics?  At least I’m coherent.  Most of the time…

They’re all already gone.  Only lame ducks have spoken against ssm so far, it seems.

And she’s only gotten through the past 2 primaries through the skin of her teeth. Go forth and conquer.

Fitchburg crumbles around him and he’s wasted so damn much time on this issue.  I’m glad he’s out.  I hope Stephen DiNatale does a better job.

Instead of legislating what they regard as ‘normalcy’ or ‘morality’, they should have been spending time, money and effort on making Mass a better place for everybody in which to live.

Same goes for churches, in my opinion.  What about helping the poor?  What about feeding the hungry?  Clothing the naked?  You know, helping people instead of telling them who and how to love.

exhibit the clinical signs of dementia that both Goguen and Parente do.  Sorry.
