Hello from Nashville

January 5, 2007 By smart-mass

He is funny, energetic, passionate and excited. There wasn’t a environmental subject he couldn’t speak of (and many times we couldn’t get him to stop đŸ™‚

While I sat in my chair and listened politely for most of the day, I never got bored never yawned or lost attention. (That’s something for me. Hell sometimes, I can barely finish a  đŸ˜‰

Last night he had dinner with us and posed for pictures (I can’t include one now because I can’t unload my camera on the road). Today he trained all day. Tonight he went to dinner with us and introduced the band at “B.B. Kings”. Tomorrow he will continue the training.

This is his fifth session (one was in Australia) and he has spent this much time with each group.

I’ll be back Sunday and will be looking for venues to present. I’ve already got two lined up in Hudson with the help of the Hudson Climate Action Network. The presentation is free…call or write if you think you have or can pull together an interested group.

    First off, good for you.

As for Al Gore being stiff or wooden, the press treated Gore and Bush very differently in 2000. Gore had to watch every word. Bush obviously didn’t. If they had treated him as badly as they treated Gore, Bush would have met with steady derision and would never have come close to winning.

Having to weigh and scrutinize your every word will make you wooden, too.

I thought, if that man had run in 2000, he’d be president now.

Was it him? Was it the media? Was it our country’s weird desire not to elect a smart man?

I took a look at the Al Gore book at the store. Wow, how embarrassing. Basically a 6th grader reader on Global Warming with pictures I remember from 20 years ago in books with similar presentations !
I saw an interesting article in USA Today a while back where
they found that Al Gore is actually not environmental at all in his personal life – actually a big consumer driving around in gas-guzzler GM trucks.  It amazes me how people will place their faith in a guy like that. But I suppose that’s what makes them “successful” politicians !
