This proposal is good news for municipalities. As a defender of those not on the web, it would be great to implement the public notices on the web and provide hard copies at key locations, city/town halls, senior centers, libraries.
I look forward to seeing who steps-up to justify continuing taxpayer subsidy advertising with the fourth estate.

Who knew that the law stipulated you could only advertise RFPs in the paper. That probably won’t save that much money, but it certainly makes sense just in terms of keeping current on how people recieve information. Could also help small businesses by expanding who would have access to the information.

I like the property tax stuff… but (I hope this doesn’t sound too selfish) I wish the eligibility were higher — I feel as though I could use some relief as well, but my family income is higher (not much) than what would be allowed.

I guess that’s where the local option taxes come in. Hope the Legislature doesn’t dismiss that out of hand — diversifying revenue streams for towns would be a good thing.
