And don’t pet the sweaty stuff: (thanks Casey)
Patrick said he thought he was being targeted for a bit of “hazing” by the Massachusetts political elite …
… “When I ran, I said I would make some mistakes,” Patrick said Friday. “I didn’t run for saint. None of them are fatal.”
Hazing … yeah, that sounds about right.
And in line with the instructions I received on my Deval-o-Tron Talking Points Microchip hardwired into my frontal lobes, I will again request the local press to focus more on the ongoing health care negotiations and the budget, since those are things that actually, you know, make a difference to ordinary people’s lives.
Update: I’ll just add something to this: I think it’s terrific that Patrick has hired some old hands who are supposed to be adept at handling the media and the various powers that be. But it should be obvious that Patrick plans to remain stubbornly substantive while he’s in office. Insofar as the Landolfi gang can run interference and set him free to do that job, it’s great that they’re around.

I really didn’t want to go here, but after “don’t pet the sweaty stuff” well…. SNL

Charley I’m an R and I almost agree with you on this one. He did not run for saint and no one is one, period. Having seen Landolfi operate in past admins he is an asset, but remember voters elected Patrick. Running intereference is not anyone’s official role, and the pro’s would never admit it was interference. That’s the difference…..there will come a point very soon (days) where he won’t be able to say “don’t give up on me”. Doesn’t sell to the silent majority.

Patrick can recover. However his problems should caution him about listening and bringing in too many of his people. He has not proven yet that he would listen to them. And for all the new commissioners etc out there be warned, you can’t survive without those that have been there or you will suffer the misteps of your boss. Catch is, you weren’t elected so you can be removed.

Patrick just needs to add a bit more heft to the office and listen to the likes of Walsh.

No matter. As I said, accepting Ms. Gorin’s resignation and hiring more experienced help is the smartest thing he’s done in weeks.

One thing they can help him with (yes, yes, it’s petty and shouldn’t matter, but it DOES) is TONE. Don’t offer an apology which turns into a statement that you’re sorry those who misunderstand you are stupid. Don’t put forth a theory that you are being hazed like a prep school frosh, and NOW that the ADULTS are here, we can progress. He sounds snotty when he makes statements like this, and it’s 100% unnecessary!

The hospital completely ignored me when I asked if they were one of the 500 hospitals participating in the VeriMed pilot program. Ya, you can implant my cold dead arm.

Nice to see the press has shut up about the New Bedford psy-op.

In the scheme of multiple disasters currently in the advanced planning stage, it does kind of make Deval’s problems moot, doesn’t it.

What is your point? He acts like a cry baby in this story.
IMO
And it seems to be a story he arranged to have.
And he stills sounds like a spoiled brat.
hazing?

Was it not an arranged interview with the intention of helping his image?

Saying Deval screw-ups are getting scary?

In the same interview Deval said he needs to work more on his image.
