Today’s NYT has an op-ed piece written by seven U.S. Army sergeants who are serving in Iraq. Basically, they talk about what a mess the place is and how we are not helping to make it better.
I have already noticed a drum beat starting about the effectivenes of the surge which I expect will only get louder as we head into September. Hopefully, the piece by the seven sergeants will not be the only glimpse of reality we get, but somehow I am not hopeful.
I thought I heard today that the Bush administration has changed the surge report date to Sept. 11th. God, have they no shame whatsoever? Maybe the radio announcer was talking about something else.
