Mike and I had Marc Solomon on as a special guest for this week's LeftAhead! podcast. If anyone is curious about what MassEquality is up to, or about the status of glbt rights across the country, you should listen in. As it happens, though, Mike went through the podcast and pulled out a few important moments:
- In an action movie superhero fight pitting Deval Patrick and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Patrickinator would win.
- Team Homophobia has promised to unseat those who switched votes on MassEquality and, whether they're the most progressive people or not, MassEquality has a duty to support them for having the couage to switch.
- 1913's days are numbered. MassEquality didn't go after it during the fight to defeat the constitutional amendment, but Solomon expects the awful law to go away either this session or the beginning of the next.
- Senator Therese Murray kicks major… well, you all know what. We wouldn't have marriage equality without the Senate President (or our Speaker of the House, for that matter).
