a strong voice during the blizzard of anti-gay amendments a few years ago would have been nice.  then there was only silence.  i can only assume that this proves that gore has no future plans to run for office.  but what the hell.  maybe some of his ‘boldness’ will rub off on certain active politicians.  the cynic in me says this is just gore playing good cop for the dems.  but you never know – even if that is true, the statement could have some positive residual effect if it gets publicity and/or if gore doesn’t make it a once-off comment.

this man not running?  He would have won and would have turned the country around.  He has depth and understanding.  Why can’t we have him as a leader?

Cause politicians cant take positions like supporting gay marriage and expect to win elections duh.

p>Sarcasm on my part, honestly Gore let us and himself down by being consulted into a mushy middle instead of having real balls, remember had he run to the left the Nader ppl wouldve bolted and he would’ve won cause indys still preferred Dems on the economy, sigh

What a shame just a few more people couldn’t have gotten off their rear ends and voted for him in Florida in 2000.  Our country would be in a very different place today.

….that Mr. Gore could never have come to espouse this position as President or an active presidential candidate.  His power comes from the fact that he is now hightly respected and immune from political repercussions.
