The Massachusetts Democratic Party is hosting Democratic National Convention delegate trainings in conjunction with the Democratic State Committee’s Affirmative Action Outreach committee to explain how to run as a national delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention to be held in Denver, August 25th-28th. All registered Democrats are welcome to attend. This initiative is a part of the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s continued efforts to support diversity and promote opportunities for all members of the Party.

the direction the state party is going in terms of openness. From associate membership to all of these wonderful meetings, there truly is a new spirit of small d democracy going on.

p>They laid out the official details of the process pretty well, although some of the important information about the process isn’t coming from the party HQ, but from the candidates’ teams.

p>The information is generic enough that if you can’t make your own district’s meeting, you can attend another meeting and get almost all of what you need.

p>I’ll remind everyone who wants to run: the most important thing you can do at this point is to be in touch with the local campaign for Obama or Clinton, because they have the right to filter out the delegate candidates. If they decide to exercise that right, you need to know who you will have to convince to let you be one of the candidates for delegates.
