My campaign for State Senate

February 11, 2008 By Jamie Eldridge

Hello to the BMG community,

I want you to be among the first to know that I am announcing today I am running for the Middlesex-Worcester Senate seat after last week’s announcement by Senator Pam Resor that she will not be running for re-election.  I have worked closely with Pam in the Legislature for nearly six years and managed her State Rep. and State Senate campaigns. I know Pam not only as an incredible legislator who has shown leadership on environmental, public safety, education and economic development legislation, but also as a mentor and good friend.  Her honesty, integrity, and work ethic will be greatly missed after this year.

I began reaching out to colleagues, Democratic activists, and elected municipal officials over the weekend, and have received a very positive response.  If you are interested in getting involved in my campaign, or have any questions about my stands on issues, or ideas for my campaign please drop me an email at James@RepEldridge.com.  I encourage you to check out my website, www.RepEldridge.com, to get a better understanding of the work I’ve done as a state Representative for the past six years.

Best wishes,

Jamie

so I owe Kate Donaghue about three days worth of canvassing and phone banking.  Now I know she’s coming to collect.  In this instance, I will be only too happy to oblige her with some time and energy.  Go Jamie!

Jamie is a true progressive with the courage to stand behind his positions.  We’re excited to be working for you on this new campaign.  BMG was a great resource for those of us on the campaign, and we look forward to working with all of you again.

of Kate.  Give her a day or two and she’ll turn it into a week, but it will always be fun.

I may have worked for your opponent during the Congressional, but I always liked and respected you. I wish you nothing but the best of luck and will be helping out any way I can.

You’re one of the most authentic voices of progressive politics I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.  We’re with you in Sudbury.

That sounds right!  The House’s loss is the Senate’s gain.  This will certainly be a net gain for Progressive Leadership on Beacon Hill.  Good luck Jamie!

…but I am delighted to see that you are running for this seat.  And while I wasn’t in your camp in the congressional primary, I was very impressed with you.  Best of luck to you!
