I don’t usually do these sorts of posts, but I just want to take some time to encourage those in the 7th Congressional District to vote for Kim Whittaker for Obama Delegate.
Kim Whittaker is a resolute, tough-minded, and high-energy activist. I believe that it matters who we send to Denver to represent us because we need a more inclusive Democratic Party. Generally, caucuses attract insider-y folks, but we in the 7th have an opportunity to select somebody who is a strong progressive activist.
Kim has worked tirelessly for the Obama campaign, and she is one of the few candidates for delegate who have reached out to the student population here at Brandeis.
She organized meet-ups for Howard Dean, hosted MoveOn.org events, and is on the Winchester town committee. In 2004, she worked with America Coming Together (ACT) and produced the “most successful, progressive fundraiser in Winchester’s history” according to Congressman Ed Markey. More recently she was a fantastic organizer for Deval Patrick. She ran the Winchester Caucus, produced Community Meetings, managed housing for delegates at the State Convention, was the Winchester Field Captain during the primary, and helped with special events including election night 2006 at the Hynes and the Inaugural events in Boston.
Competition will be fierce, which is why I’m making this post. I hope you’ll join me in my support of Kim!
To vote, a caucus-goer must be a registered Democrat and live in the 7th congressional district.
Logistics: Saturday, April 5 –
Obama’s 7th Congressional District caucuses will be held at the Minuteman Regional High School on 758 Marrett Road in Lexington.
The caucus begins at 1pm. Doors will be closed at 1:15 PM sharp so those who come late will be locked out.
Thanks for your consideration!

I’m headed to the caucus tomorrow to volunteer and to vote for Kim Whittaker. I have never been to this kind of thing before, but the real grassroots nature of this campaign makes me want to do what I can to connect with the campaign and make sure that we have real change in our country in November.

p>Besides, what better way to spend some time Saturday than soaking up the hope? Yes we can!
<
p>Kim has more energy in her pinky finger than most people have in their whole body. I have seen Kim work with amazing gusto for great causes, from local schools to our governors race and, now, changing the country’s direction with a new President.
<
p>I can’t think of anyone I’d rather send to Denver than Kim.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kim Whittaker on the Obama campaign and she has what it takes to go to Denver as our delegate. She is organized, eloquent and has so much charisma–it’s contagious. It’s no wonder Obama has someone like Kim ready, willing and able to support him for President. I think it’s fabulous to be able to send Kim to represent our district. GO KIM and GOBAMA!!

I have known Kim for some years now and she is a great advocate, who can mobilize people’s enthusiasm and support. She is just the kind of advocate Obama will need in the struggle that is likely to emerge in Denver.

You couldn’t ask for a better advocate than Kim Whittaker! She is a tireless supporter and organizer. Most importantly she is zealous and even evangelical in her enthusiasm for Barack Obama. If there are delegates to be earned and turned in Denver, Kim will find them! Go Kim!

I have had the great pleasure of getting to know Kim over the past few years, and I continue to be awed by her energy and drive. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she has a proven ability to rally and unite people. In short time, she whipped together an effective Winchester for Obama team that changed the course of the primary in our area. And I have no doubt she would make a terrific delegate to the convention.
