It’s Official – Obama asks for Elizabeth Edward’s help with health care!

June 10, 2008 By AmberPaw

You don’t have to take my word for it:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/polit…

Obama interupted a prepared speech, pointed out Elizabeth Edwards in the audience, and declared that Elizabeth Edwards would assist in fully developing Obama’s health care policy.

[You may hear a bit less from me for a while – I am on the road for ten days]

Misssed this gem. What a great idea she should seriously help change the face of Health Care in America it’s about time.

by either one of them, but agree that this sure sounds good.  John and Elizabeth were at the speech and Obama’s reference to Elizabeth and fixing health care was great to hear.  I didn’t take it as pandering during the speech, but I would be interested in seeing what kind of role Elizabeth takes after his reference.

p>John Edwards, AG.  Just do it!

I’m curious how this is not just cult of personality. What are Elizabeth Edwards’ qualifications, other than having cancer and being generally popular in lefty circles?

One of the biggest issues that our country is facing these days is the healthcare system. President Barack Obama has been  very enthusiastic about this healthcare reform. But I’m sure that the work will be difficult and will require compromise. There hasn’t been any legislature introduced yet, but there should be a bill on the Congressional floor by the end of summer.   The amount spent per family on health services has gone up dramatically in the last decade, and a lot of people are sick of getting personal loans just to cover the most basic of medical care.  The aim is to reduce cost to providers, insurers, the government, and ultimately the public, so that no one needs debt consolidation for the most basic of health care needs.
