Ellen & Portia Tie the Knot

August 17, 2008 By Laurel

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres tied the knot in a small home ceremony Saturday.

The ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres’ mom, Betty, and de Rossi’s mother, Margaret Rogers, who had flown in from Australia, People.com reported Saturday night.

The couple have been together 4 years – about time they tied the knot! đŸ˜€

Meanwhile, those who can’t stand the sight of happily married couples are busy trying to strip people like Portia & Ellen from the right to marry.  Send the newlyweds a gift by helping to keep marriage legal in California: Support the No on Prop 8 campaign.  And while you’re at it, don’t forget that Florida and Arizona also have anti-equality constitutional amendments on the ballot this November.  Give generously and frequently.  Or better yet, get your old auntie in Miami or gramps in Phoenix on the phone and have “the conversation”.

can you believe the Connecticut Supreme Court hasn’t handed down their decision yet?  It’s been over a year since they heard oral arguments!

p>I know they were discussing whether sexual orientation should be considered a suspect class and with the California Court deeming so (they were the 1st court to consider and answer that question) hopefully that will help substantially.

The California Supreme Court is pretty nice though because any case you are interested in you can sign up for email alerts and you’re automatically updated with any changes that occur.

p>And not to mention that they have a self imposed 4 month deadline!  Oh well…any month now!
