Breaking News – Sonia Chang-Diaz defeats Diane Wilkerson after recount

September 27, 2008 By AmberPaw

The news just came out – see:

http://www.thebostonchannel.co…

Apparently, Diane Wilkerson who had wanted to recount in five wards only had the signatures to recount in three wards.

Sonia Chang-Diaz submitted signatures to recount in one ward.

The story does not give the final vote count.

Wilkerson picked up 15 votes, according to PolitickerMA. Her deficit was 228. It is now 213.

p>They quit for the day with 17 ballots unaccounted for. They’ll likely find them Monday. That would mean Wilkerson would lose by a range of 196 to 230, assuming they find the 17 and that they are marked for one or the other.

The variance is mostly due to the 17 missing ballots; Wilkerson according to unofficial numbers at city hall, Wilkerson gained less than 7 additional votes.
