I wanted to mention two things about Lieberman’s speech. First, I’m very glad that he did not reprise the appalling level of vitriol demonstrated by Zell Miller last time. Second, did anyone else catch that he actually praised Bill Clinton? I never thought I’d hear that at a GOP convention.
Overall, not as partisan as I feared, though the usual accusations of taxing, wealth redistribution, and apologizing for America do come out. Tonight seems to be the night for business leaders. I believe Mitt Romney is slated to speak later tonight.
I propose that this diary serve as an open thread for the convention itself. I’m political junkie enough to watch both conventions. After all, we need to hear what the opposition is saying in order to effectively communicate our own message.
