The poll was un-scientific, but doesn’t look good for Tim.

p>The State Treasurer came up short for an At-Large delegate seat to the Democratic National Convention.  What next?

p>Some people say Tim Cahill is a pol looking for a place. Is he dead-ended and a one-termer?

p>Bobbie Crane cared about being treasurer and reciever general of the commonwealth.

He’s already on his second term and I see no reason for him not to complete it.  Regardless of who it is I don’t see the Treasurer’s office as a stepping stone.  He’ll likely fall into the same trap as Shannon O’Brien if he tries.  In 2002, she made a great case I thought for why she should be re-elected Treasurer.  The only problem was that she was running for GOVERNOR, which it seemed she was doing only because others thought that she should.

How did this guy win a second term?

p>Tim Cahill is the poster child for self-serving politicians.

p>Tim Cahill for governor or senator or whatever is available!  What a hack!?!

He definitely didn’t get a primary challenge and may not have had a GOP challenge.  It’s tough to lose when you’re unopposed!  I don’t have reason to believe he’s been a bad Treasurer, but the prospect of his running for something else doesn’t excite me.

This is Deval Central.  Jesus would struggle to beat Deval in a poll here.  Nothing against this place or its contributors, but let’s not fool ourselves.  This is not an endorsement of Cahill, but I am generally enthusiastic about contested primaries, particularly in our state.

Sab – could Obama beat Deval in a BMG poll?

        <

p>I figure Barack “Double Charter Schools” Obama would get my vote…but possibly lose Pablo “Anyone But Caroline K” for the same reason….

        <

p>Perhaps become the swing vote of the BMG educrat commentariat….and hell, you’d probably wouldn’t even vote and instead write in Bill “My aide took the $, not me” Richardson!
