I haven’t posted much on RMG (or BMG) these last two weeks. Ya know why? I’ve been cheering on the US in the Confederations Cup tournament in South Africa. I am not very shy that I am a soccer fanatic, particularly about the US National Team.
I haven’t given a toss about politics for two weeks because our boys are playing their asses off in South Africa. This isn’t a Democratic or Republican thing. This isn’t liberal, conservative or libertarian. This is American. This is for pride on the world stage. This is for when you travel abroad you can tell everyone that you’re an American and that we beat the best team on the planet

“It’s all good”. I’ve heard European commentators complimenting the USA players, coaches, and organizations. I’ve heard them say that the traditional winners and powerhouse teams welcome the ascendancy of our team in international play. They’ve said no team should feel a loss of pride because they were beaten by Brazil, always among the best and that all we needed to win was perhaps to be a little more “battle hardened”. It’s time some of these boys become household words here at home and get the respect from their own countrymen that they have earned and are getting from there adversaries abroad. All are great athletes and gentlemen who display the good sportsmanship of which we in America should be so proud.
I’ve long believed that the United States has the best soccer players in the world. Trouble is, they all play other sports.
