The latest from Organizing for America.
A fine video with a quick and easy call to action followed by an “ask” on the website. Equal parts activism, email harvesting and fund raising.
The crucial point here, however, is not so much this specific message — worthy and well-produced through it is — but how Obama has used the Internet to organize, maintain, and, perhaps, expand the base he mobilized to crush McCain in the election. I cannot for the life of me understand why every major politician in America doesn’t do exactly the same thing.
If Governor Patrick had leveraged the base he built in the last election into something like OfA, for example, he’d be in a far stronger position than he is at the moment. Instead, he has a lifeless website and an almost completely unexploited base of 9,265 Facebook fans.
What would you do if you were in charge of the Deval Patrick re-election campaign Internet effort, Martha Coakley’s Internet-based organizing, or, say, Charlie Baker’s online efforts?

Only a “drill”.
