Martha Coakely came out of the gates first,but does that mean she will also get endorsements first from labor and other organizations? I think many organizations will hold off just like the rest of the potential candidates to see if a Kennedy throws his/her hat in the ring. If a Kennedy decides to run, they will wait until the deadline date. The family needs to regroup after their loss, it’s only been a week since Senator Kennedy passed away.

They won’t endorse at all. They tend to do that when they have too many friends in the race. Lynch, Coakley, Capuano, et al…are all friends of labor. Even if they lose in the primary, they’re still going to hold onto their seats, so it’s not in labor’s interests to endorse under these conditions. Of course, that means no help with GOTV, signholding, etc.
