Tonight on LeftAhead, Lynne, Mike and I did a special show on the senate special election and had, as our special guest, Congressman and candidate Michael Capuano. For the first twenty minutes of the show, we took a fairly comprehensive view of the race — who was in it, who had a good shot, what was going on the Republican side, what issues were important, etc. — while we did our candidate interview with Capuano for the rest of the show, asking him questions about everything from health care to No Child Left Behind to Senate leadership issues — and whether or not the cats can be herded at least to the extent where Democrats agree not to filibuster Democratic bills.
People can listen into all of it or fast forward right to Capuano’s interview with the player below (just skip the first 15-20 minutes).
A note to all the other candidates: You’re more than welcome on our show, just shoot me an email and we’ll schedule a time that works for the campaign.
really demonstrates Mike’s process of making value based decisions informed by the facts.
I also enjoyed the talk about No Child Left Behind. It was one of the instances where Mayoral experience was surprisingly important — unfunded mandates hurt cities and towns, even if the people making decisions from their comfy perch in DC don’t always realize it.
