It amazes me that right wingers project on to the Scott Brown this idea that he is really not pro-choice. Take this letter to my local paper:
This is why I’m voting for Scott Brown for senator. He is not “pro-life,” but he is believed to be a pro-life vote. He is against federal funding of abortion, partial birth abortion, and he favors parental consent laws. He is against the Senate health care reform bill (which includes funding of abortion) and could be that necessary vote to crush it.
So, just as you would not vote for a terrorist supporter, I ask you to not vote for Martha Coakley, but instead for the one who will give that unborn child a voice. By doing so, you, too, will be giving that child a voice.
It has come to this – some supposedly “single issue” right wingers are so deranged that they will distort the record and public professions of a pro-choice candidate so that they can vote for him with a clear conscious.
Talk about folding one’s principles. Oy.
