Recently the North Iowa Tea Party ( a small group of about 200 people) advertised a billboard comparing Obama to Hitler and Lenin. The billboard was condemned publicly immediately by the larger Iowa Tea Party and every other person I heard comment on it. MSM was on the story right away.
We should keep up the monitoring and reporting of any incident, whether it is voter intimidation by the New Black Panthers, Tea Party activists, Obama’s appointees or anyone else.

Just like James O’Keefe’s ACORN videos from last year, it was heavily edited to make it appear much worse than it was. See the full story here:

p>John, you should stop listening to people who lie to you – you end up with a head full of misinformation, and the liars are laughing at you…
johnd says
Why did the woman (swine that she is) resign?
<
p>Why did her superiors disavow her?
<
p>Why did the NAACP throw her under the bus?
<
p>All from an “edited” video?
<
p>Don’t be so naive. You are exhibiting exactly the behavior I was referring to when I said we all have to ostracize people when they do the wrong thing and stop circling the wagons just because they’re part of our tribe.
<
p>This was wrong no matter how you try to spin it. Rather than trying to defend it, just say she’s a racist and should have been fired.
johnt001 says
Your questions are answered there – and by continuing to believe anything Breitbart and Fox News feeds you, you exhibit exactly the behavior I’ve referred to in countless arguments with you, John. You prefer to believe liars – there’s nothing I can do for you until you open your eyes.
johnd says
I do happen to believe journalists. How are we suppose to decide between who we believe and who we don’t? I think most people will believe in stories they “ant” to be true and discount stories which they don’t want to be true. I believe in most of what I read on FOX and discount much of what is presented (or not presented) on MSNBC. This one came off MSNBC and I don’t care where the initial report comes from, when a station reports the news then they own it.
<
p>Maybe I shouldn’t believe in journalists since most f them have become commentators (with bias) instead of reporting the news be-it right, wrong OR in agreement with their slants (and yes I know FOX does this too).

p>I wouldn’t believe a word they say.
<
p>This video first showed up at Breitbart’s site, where Fox News picked it up and pumped it into the cable news world. MSNBC got it from there. It was a Breitbart lie from the start, and you went for it hook, line and sinker. Can you now admit that it was a dishonest smear?
mr-lynne says
…and admit you are wrong.

then you should recognize this woman’s description of her moment of grace.
<
p>She hated. That’s a sin. She thought about acting on her hate, and then her heart was turned away from the hate. And for Breitbart to lie about this woman’s moment of grace shows a lack of humanity on his part.
<
p>Please don’t offer up that “why did she resign?” question. You know full well that some people can be browbeaten into taking a fall they don’t deserve. Some people knuckle under to pressure, and they are observed by the other set who tell themselves “not me, I bow to no one.”
johnd says
but having said that I don’t have any clairvoyance to recognize “moments of grace”. Can you?
johnt001 says
All it requires is that you watch the whole video and make up your own mind about what she was saying. You saw Breitbart’s edited video and swallowed his lies whole – then you rushed over here to breathlessly post about it. Why did you do that? Because the lies aligned with your pre-conceived notions about race. You couldn’t be more wrong – and you should really stop listening to liars, as I’ve told you countless times in this forum.

p>JohnD, Breitbart lied and fooled you. Fooled you good. Tricked you into thinking this lady at the USDA was racist but she’s not. I think you might sympathize with Ms. Sherrod because, JohnD, I think you would hate it if people publicly called you racist.
That does not sound like a racist woman to me.
<
p>You, JohnD, have been suckered by Breitbart who got paid lots of big dough by rich conservatives to be a Nixon-style dirty trickster. Remember those deceptively edited ACORN tapes that Breitbart promoted? That skinny kid who shot the video is convicted for tampering with phone lines of a Senator. So, in the coming weeks, we may not know if Ms. Sherrod, who has been unfairly accused of racism, will get her job & reputation back (she deserves), but one thing is very likely…
…Breitbart will continue to get big funding from rich conservatives to keep trying to play people like you, JohnD, for suckers.
johnt001 says
Your questions will be anwered, and you’ll see just what a bunch of craven, hypocritical liars you continue to trust – you’re allowing these people to shape your worldview, and it’s got to be bitter fruit:

I intentionally don’t cite FOX here on BMG since many here don’t consider them a credible news station. In this case my “source” was MSNBC! If I can’t trust MSNBC on a story then whom should I trust? Think of posting here if you can’t believe a new source like MSNBC.
<
p>Although the White House has not changed their story I do see the NAACP has withdrawn their published criticism.
<
p>I too will remove my charge of racism on this woman since the tape and dialogue which I read and believed to be fact (on MSNBC) may not have been true. If this woman has not in fact made any of these statements then I hope she sues the hell out of any party for damages. I also apologize to the woman for calling her a racist.
<
p>I will sustain my kudos to the NAACP even if they withdrew their condemnation since they did have the initial reaction of issuing a statement which heavily criticized her reported racial remarks.
<
p>My initial hope remains true that I encourage any and all organizations, parties, groups… to “throw people under the bus” if they commit any abhorrent offense and stop the “circling of the wagons”.
mr-lynne says
… MSNBC was reporting on a story by Breitbart. That’s the first clue that this is a hatchet job built on lies.
johnd says
But is that it? The MSM went kooky over the edited released Mel Gibson rant tapes so should they have waited for the full tapes to be released. I think I am among the majority who listened to the tapes and thought “medication time, medication time…” for Mel. But should we all have waited for the full unedited tapes to be released or considered the fact that the tapes were being released by a biased party… his ex-wife?
<
p>Can this woman sue for damages?
mr-lynne says
… story is on Gibson – I haven’t really been following any details. No idea who can sue who. Breitbart has a history of editing video.

hardest things to do is intellectually is to withold judgement when someone tells you something. It’s particularly difficult when you’re told something by someone you trust. This is something I’ve had to learn the hard way.

p>JohnD can be forgiven for being snookered by the media; the Obama Administration should know better. The mainstream media cares about ratings, not purveying good information.
