We all remember the monstrosity that is South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson interrupting a joint session of Congress to shout “You Lie!” at President Obama.
(Of course, in typical surreality-based Republican fashion, Wilson was in fact the one with his facts wrong: Obama was absolutely correct.)
Former Marine Rob Miller is running hard against Wilson. Both candidates had the same amount of cash on hand as of 30 June. Now it is time for the final push. You can see the full profile for the race here from the NYT’s excellent election system.
BMG readers have already raised over $1,000 for Miller (America Bucks, bucking burro: we never stop here at BMG). Let’s see what we can get done with a final push: anything over $250 would be fabulous, in my opinion. It is showtime, folks. Send a message to Rob Miller and to Joe Wilson — and by all means use the handy ActBlue boxes at top left to support other BMG-endorsed candidates.

Let history show that on September 9, 2009, this great country, its supreme leader, and everything it stands for, were brutally and verbally attacked by radical extremists whose visceral hate for Americans knows no limits, and who have infiltrated every level of government with the intent of destroying it and our way of life.

In order to prevent future attacks on our soil, we must not rest until every last one is rooted out and brought to justice, wherever we find them.

Bad forum for such things and an obvious breach of protocol, but (as time has borne out) the good congressman was right.
