I always get lots of direct mail asking me to donate to political campaigns. I’ve been buried under a pile of letters from Al Franken, Russ Feingold, James Carville, etc.
Today, I got a letter from the Friends of Sharron Angle. PO Box 96205, Washington DC 20090. She “needs my help.” She wants a donation from me.
Direct Mail is supposed to be targeted.
Why are the Republicans mailing me, a unionized public school teacher in Cambridge, Massachusetts, asking for money?
Clearly, they have too much money, if they are spending it on lists with lifelong Democrats on it.
Please share widely!

p>Hey – I’m all for letting them waste as much money as possible this way. How do I get on more lists?

attend their public events, and make sure you sign in.

p>Then, when they call you, enjoy long conversations, where you ask innocent questions to waste their time. I once spent 32 minutes on the telephone with a John McCain phone banker. I finally brought the conversation to an end when I had finished cooking my dinner.

because I frequently swap parties to vote in a particular primary

because of your zip code. I get mostly Democratic pitches because of my activities, but there are many pitches (not political) I get because of the zip code I live in, not knowing that my financial situation makes me a definite no to them.

And I’ve never received Republican mailings in the past. Anyway, I agree that it’s great that they waste their money on the likes of me, although its bad for my blood pressure when I actually read the stuff!
