Genevieve Davis of Norwell is running as a Democrat for the State Senate in Plymouth and Norfolk.
Ms. Davis has deep roots working for the 99%. Education, human services, the environment, labor, housing, minority and LGBT programs, the arts — if you support any of these programs, then she is your candidate.
Working for 40 years in the financial management of these of non-profits, she has taught groups how to be viable in a fiscally responsible way without sacrificing innovation. In return, these organizations taught her the real need for their diverse mission statements and that the wonderful diversity of human beings enriches our communities and makes our state stronger.
Coupling her depth of resume with her MBA, she knows how to identify and solve problems.
In addition to this professional experience, Ms. Davis has been a resident of the district for almost 30 years. She knows firsthand the struggles facing families as they raise their children and work to pay the bills.
It’s time for her to take her skills and experience to the legislature to help the district and the state.
More information about Ms. Davis can be found on her website davis4senate.com and contributions can be made through ActBlue.

…but I would also recommend direct engagement by the candidate beyond just dumping a press release on us.

I saw Davis speak at my town Caucus. So, your running because you were bored. Someone suggests that you run for Conservation board in Norwell, and you’ve mused that’d be fun to run for State Senate. That’s NOT good enough. Bob Hedlund needs to be challenged by someone who won’t need a map to find the Bathrooms or the clerk’s office at the Statehouse.
More disturbing is the fact that you triumph the fact that you helped your son run a write-in campaign against Rhonda Nyhan, the duly nominated Democratic candidate. You may believe this makes you Mother of the Year. This is politics. It’s not novel- its incredibly disloyal, especially considering that Nyhan was recently widowed when her husband the incumbent died in an accident.

Davis has decades of experience schilling for the execs at Fidelity. Does anyone really believe that Fidelity or State Street needs more people taking up for the uber-powerful?
I am supporting Steve May. Long before Davis got into this race, Steve spoke passionately about giving a voice to regular people who don’t have access to Beacon Hill. Steve will take up the fight for the least amongst us. I know that because he’s done it time and time again. May’s experience as a National expert on Healthcare issues is invaluable as more and more issues around healthcare beyond Romneycare arise.

Last time I saw the Fidelity attack against Davis it caught my attention. I asked her about it when I saw her at the Scituate caucus. She found it to be quite funny as she’s spent something like the past 30+ years working for non-profits like BAGLY, not Fidelity.

I haven’t decided who I am supporting, but one thing is certain Steve May knows EXACTLY why he is running. He is out to change the way Healthcare is addressed across MA. Davis reminds me of Admiral Stockdale. She doesn’t seem to have a reason for running other than it’d be fun. Steve has worker in nearly forty Statehouses around the country. He knows politics isn’t about fun. Talk to Steve and it’s clear he knows it’s about working to raise up those who seldom get heard above the din of Official Beacon Hill. For two decades we have been denied a meaningful voice in the most important policy discussion. We need someone who will fight for us and be effective on our behalf on Day One.

worker should be worked.
