Seriously, despite the fact that Louisiana is part of the United States and the United States has a Constitution that include various Amemdments other than the Second Amendment (like the First Amendment), a Louisiana City Councilman is drafting an ordinance to ban rainbow flags being flown from buildings during Pride Week. If I provide the link, the answer to the quiz is in the link (which would plum near be a dead give away!).
Bonus (Fill in the blank): This genius’s governor has urged Blank to not be the “stupid party“.
The answer to both will be provided via a “Re-Edit” on Wednesday.
Answer The Republican Party.
Bet that will learn ’em.
Note: The restriction is just for government buildings, in case that is “really” a concern.

If I give it away, there will be an eruption of anger from fellow commentators. But, yes, monitor this thread carefully.
Of course, this just means quadruple the flags the week after Pride, if this guy could think things through.

…is that this is to apply to municipal buildings. I first saw this on Facebook and several commenters there asked if the same goes for the Confederate flag. If I am correct about the municipal buildings part then my view is that they should stick with the national, state, and city flags. Any ban regarding private property would of course be an outrageous violation of the first amendment.

…the condo developments in Mass. that don’t allow display of the American flag?
Maybe THAT can be the party name!

Boilerplate Condo Docs often just use the rules of other successful condominiums. I have never seen where this is a issue being pushed by a political party. As a trustee of a condominium, I know for a fact that if someone wants to display an American Flag and there is something in the Declaration of Trust that prevents exterior displays, all they would need to do is at their next condo meeting, propose a change and get a majority of the Beneficial Interest to agree to the change. It is called democracy. Perhaps the flaming idiots who watch Fox News should get off their flabby fat asses and do so research rather than complaining about the crushing “burden” of living in a civilized society.

Is this a trick question?

between a private condo association, affiliated with no political party at all, enforcing rules designed to preserve their property values through a forced uniformity and a city councilmember deciding to single out one particular flag that may not be flown on a government building during the week when it’s most likely to be flown. Let me know when this guy says they can’t have a New Orleans Saints flag on City Hall during the NFL playoffs.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think your comment followed the classic Republican “Plen-T-Plaint” phenomenon described by Thomas Frank, under which entities like Fox News bleat out a constant drumbeat of fake “outrages” designed to convince their viewers that Democrats hate America, freedom, apple pie, football, and Jesus. But you’d never do anything like that, right?
