Dan Wolf Out of the Governor’s Race

October 21, 2013 By jconway

So sayeth David Bernstein on Facebook. Sen. Wolf said Ethics Commission was taking too long to decide and his window of opportunity was closing.

I am disappointed and now officially undecided.

    …can be seen here.

This is really too bad. He was my second choice after Grossman and I can definitely see myself supporting him in another race.

Apparently Cass Sunstein gets the top honor.

He is a better speaker than I expected and I probably agree with his policy positions more than any remaining candidate. Considering the learning curve Deval (an exceptional politico) had I think they’d eat an egghead alive.

I have a huge amount of respect for Dr. Berwick. He has made a significant impact on healthcare. He published on the topic of “Patient Centered Healthcare”. And, as head of CMS, he instituted important changes in Medicare. Don Berwick is my hero! I don’t think that he’s ready to be governor, however. I am supporting Steve Grossman.

Hard to go from “Don Berwick is my hero!” to “I am supporting Steve Grossman” in one breath, but somehow you did it. I’m curious why that is. If he could run Medicare and Medicaid for the entire country, why wouldn’t he be ready for Governor? It’s a way bigger administration than the Treasurer’s office. Is it that it’s less political (because I don’t think it’s less political)? Would love to hear more.

I still wouldn’t vote for him for governor.

I would like to see someone with a track record with public policy and state & local issues beyond a niche like health care. I don’t think Koji understands how town meetings work, school funding, state mandates, et al.

Hate to lose Sen. Wolf. He’d make an excellent governor. The Ethics Commission needs to review how the law applies in practical terms.

      He was my early favorite.
