Jamaica Plain – At a hastily assembled press conference this morning, my dog, “Doctor”, announced his support for Rep. Martin Walsh’s bid for the Boston mayoralty.
Explaining his surprise endorsement, the popular local labrador cited Walsh’s “longstanding affection for all things warm and fuzzy.” Continued the politico-pup, “It pains me to be at odds with my master, who has chosen to cast his lot with Councilor John Connolly in this race. But in the end it comes down to which candidate really knows how to rub my tummy. I have nothing but admiration for Mr. Demos and, as fellow progressives, I am sure that we have many long walks to look forward to in the future.”
When questioned about the origin of the very large bone resting before him, the dog became defensive. “Yeah, someone gave me a bone.” he snapped, “So, I have a bone. Many dogs have bones! Just what are you implying?”

He looks like a great dog. Smart, too. He knows it’s OK to piss on trees but not on teachers.
