Our car was towed by Pat’s Towing over Christmas. We were charged at a rate of $35 a day for storage in Somerville. You can park in downtown Boston’s best buildings for less than $35 a day.
Somerville Parking Gargagesare $7.00-14.00 per 24 hrs.
We were also charged $30 notification- yet we were never notified. Charging for services not delivered is against the law.
$5.50 for Fuel. Gas is less than $4 a gallon and gets you 15 miles. The car was parked less than a mile from Pat’s towing. Round trip would cost $1 of gas.
And then of course $90 towing charge and a ticket for $40.
These fees seem egregious and violated some basic legal principles.

…improve signage regarding illegal parking. I got a ticket last year for parking at what appeared to be a perfectly good metered spot. I’m very good at checking signs and did not see one indicating a time restriction. As I recall it was late enough in the evening that I had to plug the meter for part of the time and did so, but would be there beyond the enforcement hours. I received a ticket which indicated I was not supposed to park there at all. I did successfully fight it in the sense the city forgave the fine, but the letter that came in response basically said we still think we’re right, but we won’t argue with you and don’t let it happen again.
