Scituate bans e-cigarettes in public places…

February 25, 2014 By mike_cote

The Globe has a story about how Scituate increased the tobacco-purchasing age to 21 among other things (like banning e-cigarettes in public places). Well Done Scituate.

“We were leaning maybe towards 19. Last night we said, ‘If we’re going to do it, let’s just do it.’ Twenty-one seemed to be the number, and if that’s what liquor sales are, then maybe that’s what tobacco sales should be,” Clark said.

Is that really how (by)laws should be made?

I live in Scituate – I understand upping the price of single cigars, but I don’t understand restricting the rights of adults without any solid reasoning behind the age. Also don’t understand doubling the price of a tobacco license on businesses.

because I think e-cigarettes are a total fraud and will encourage tobacco use by teenagers. The fact that they are being marketed with all these stupid designer flavors, makes me believe that underage people are being targeted by the product. I have lost both Uncles and Aunts to lung cancer on both sides of my family, and do not wish that upon anyone. It is a horrible way to die. I was pleased to see CVS decide to stop selling tobacco products and I would be pleased to see the entire tobacco industry fade from existance. That is why “Welll Done”.

I don’t have images of my family member’s who had lung disease, so I offer this image of what lung disease is doing.
