Scott Brown confuses me

April 3, 2014 By Sean

Okay, this may be small ball, but former and never-again-from-Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown had this to say about firm-confirmed reports that he’s leaving Nixon Peabody:

I’m not going to confirm anything regarding my personal life,

Personal life? Wasn’t there a press release when he joined the firm?

Scott a long time ago, but I think a helpful rule of thumb is: If it makes Scott look good, he wants it shouted from the mountaintops. If it doesn’t, it’s none of your business and you should be ashamed for asking.

Interesting part is that Nixon Peabody has a Manchester office with a couple of partners who are big in the NH GOP. Are they not supporting Scott? Was Manchester too long a commute from the beach house in Rye? Does he just want to spend time with his family? Or does “exploring” a bid for Senate take up that much of his time?

He is polling about as well against Markey, his presence on the ticket would help Baker and Tisei, and he has a better shot winning here than there IMO. I am also shocked the RMG and DFW have their heads shoved so far up his ass they aren’t mad he is leaving them in the cold. Anyway he loses NH and goes back to the Fox B team. Who cares?

I am backing Jean since she’s a great Senator, not just because he was a lousy one here.

that RMG apparently understands their great good fortune in this.

Has there been Brown/Markey polling? The GOP has already had their convention so a little late now. I also don’t see why you think he would help Baker and Tisei. Brown IMO showed he was out of his depth and was not immune to tea party influence. Baker and Tisei are about the only two GOPers left who sound like reasonable guys. My own instinct says Brown hurts.

he’s just plain old Scott Brown again. He was extremely well marketed once, but those days are long gone.

Wasn’t he a reasonably moderate State Senator before he was in the national spotlight? That Scott Brown might have gotten re-elected to the US Senate.
