From WBZ:
Republican Party lawyer Louis Ciavarra said in court Friday that party leaders have agreed to vote to certify tea party-affiliated candidate Mark Fisher for the primary ballot.
Ciavarra said the paperwork could be delivered to the state secretary’s office as early as Monday.
But don’t put away the popcorn yet…
A lawyer for Fisher said he’ll still seek monetary damages.

That extra “http” thing that WordPress throws in was still at the end of the link. Zipped that out and now it is OK.

There is still the matter of the executive committee having to vote or some such to certify Fisher. Let’s assume the exectuve committee voting alone rather than the entire state committee taking a vote has the authority to do that. The MassGOP’s position, unless I’m mistaken, is still that Fisher did not get 15% at the convention and that the tally sheets show he did not get 15%. If that is still their publicly stated position and their continued position before the court, why should Galvin accept their certification that Fisher got 15% at the convention?

There are rules for holding meetings.

It’s not supposed to be that someone can snap their fingers and call a meeting.
To prevent discovery the MassGOP is ignoring its rules for how the meeting must be conducted to put Fisher on the ballot probably because it would take a month or so and they needed to prevent discovery right now. Shenanigans!

Just meetings of the members, regular or special

Charlie Baker’s silence is deafening. He has neither supported this process nor taken exception to it. He is in the mold of Scott Brown, waiting for the conclusion, sticking his finger into the wind, and then acting as if he was in front rather than where he is, nowhere to be seen or heard. No more advice from our side. It only confuses them further. They’re burning their bridges just fine on their own.

saying he’s not a partner, not an employee, doesn’t raise money for…..that company that he co-founded, all to defend himself from a big donation he made to Chris Christie which may have led to a big state contract for that same company. Isn’t politics incestuous.

…because he’s deeply implicated.

A statement for sure but a rather innocuous attempt to stick to his talking points about his super competence.

His #1 resume line for competence. Pitiful.

Is it a a coincidence that they made this decision at the exact moment the Baker/Christie story came to light?
