yes it’s true. This whole EB3 thing was based on a bet with a guy I know from Worcester. His challenge to me one night over Cuddy Sarks and beers at The Wonder Bar on Shrewsbury Street was 1. join a blog and make everyone hate me . (“I can do that”, I said) 2. Post 1,000 entries before January 1, 2015. (What? That’s work and how do I keep from getting banned before I reach a thousand?) 3. Use bad grammer and spelling and don’t be afraid to mix up homonyms. (Now you’re talking.)
So I won. And now I have three free pairs of pants every year for life at Maurice the Pants Man in Kelly Square.
Who’s the fool now? Huh? Yeah, that’s right. Not me.
So folks I leave you with a must see video. A gift of love from me to you. (thanks to Dave Portnoy)
and don’t forget to follow me on twitter.
Then again, I grew up in Main South making fun of Clarkies
Maybe even get quoted in the Globe and Herald a few more times. Make ryepower12, mike_cote, and methuenprogressive completely lose it.
Or at least give us a better GBCW post than this.
You’ve been quoted in the Globe and Herald. They haven’t. (I’ve at least made the Globe.)
But when he has his tantrums, I’ll call him out on them. When he’s on a roll, I’ll cheer him on.
By the way, it’s probably a good idea not to make wide sweeping assumptions about what BMG commenters are seeking when they write — because media attention is literally the last thing I’d ever want.
I’ve had my fair share of the media’s glare. I prefer Globe columnists don’t write entire columns on my posts these days and that the national media doesn’t go into a feeding frenzy because a famous pol said something on my podcast that could be taken out of context.
It may be fun to get media attention when you’re anonymous, but not so much otherwise. EB3 was smart to stay anonymous.
… and I have no idea how… but somehow a guy who says he deliberately set out to make people hate him gets a pass because of something about the ‘haters’…
That is straight out and stone cold fucked up.
EBIII is a deeply hurt and angry person who’s only real talent, and who’s only real joy (however meager), is to find and to push buttons with malice and spite. His pseudonym alone tells you that. And he has a pseudonym in the first place to hide, not his importance, but to hide what he perceives as his own insignificance. If his pseudonym wasn’t enough there is all the shockingly blunt and cynical shit he’s made up and/or guessed at which has never come to pass. And the belligerent tone. Because he doesn’t trust his own significance, he pushes buttons: sometimes he succeeds and sometimes he fails, but his only goal is to gain some sense out of his own existence by the misery he can generate in others. If he didn’t have my buttons to push, he’d go after yours. Then you would sing a different tune about ‘jealousy’ and ‘haters.’
It’s not his fault, somebody beat it into him a while ago, but he finds love a difficult thing because of the intensity of hate that has surrounded him: which intensity of hate he has come to crave as a measure of his own validity. Without even watching the video he’s linked, I can fairly well describe it as rage-filled yet completely without context or explicit (sic) meaning: It’s all about anger and, when you watch it, you won’t know why. Neither does he…
you’ve done an excellent job of characterizing that video. I did watch it, and it’s all that you said. Especially both meanings of the penultimate line: “It’s all about anger and, when you watch it, you won’t know why.” I watched it, and didn’t know what was the source of the anger in it, nor did I know why I watched it. From now on, I won’t be clicking on any of fakernie’s links.
I have no real idea how accurate your analysis of fakernie’s mental processes are, but it’s consistent with his observed behavior.
You’re not going away are you?
n/t
He certainly isn’t.
The stats say that you were recommended over 101 times for 1000 posts, so you can’t make the argument that “everyone” hates you. Unless you think you can support using the average EB3 hate index over all users.
I believe 101 represents the number of posts EB3 has recommended not the number of times an EB3 post has been recommended by others. His first page of posts, as of today, has 30 recommendations in total spread over ten posts. That’s a higher rate than 0.1; it’s 3.0.
More likely, EB3 does not particularly enjoy reading things not by EB3.
on some kind of formula relating to uprates of your comments, not anything to do with your posts.
Maybe kbusch has it right and it’s the number of posts you yourself have recommended.
Recommend a post and watch your count increment by one.
I fakernie’s goal was to make a specific number of posts, why did he so often put so many different topics within each one? He would have reached this fictional millstone (sic) two or three times as fast if he’d made separate posts about each topic.
This is just another BS attempt to sucker the rubes. Sad that it seems to have worked. As a bonus, he gets video watchers to view his surrogate cursing them.
This is a laudatory New Year’s resolution.
However, a return of EB3 in a few weeks with a post featuring the imaginary clamor of fictional fans “begging” for his return is not out of the question.
I meant “laudable”. “Laudatory” means something different.
Oh well
He’s accepted a post in the Baker administration.
