My understanding is that the Northeast is also seeing increased ferocity of precipitation too, more inches of rain, snow, sleet, or hail per minute than we used to see.

Having more water than we need is probably better than having less water. Growth in places like Arizona and Nevada are clearly not sustainable, so maybe its time to start marketing our state to people who are living in drought.
