This morning at church I was struck by this last verse of O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. It seems to me an ecumenical prayer for all of us for the year ahead:
O come, O King of nations, bind
in one the hearts of all mankind.
Bid all our sad divisions cease
and be yourself our King of Peace. RefrainRejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
shall come to you, O Israel.
Whatever faith or higher power you ascribe (if any at all), may 2018 bid all our sad divisions cease and may we truly find peace.
Blessings to you all!
Please share widely!

Merry Christmas to you to, JConway, and I agree the verse you cite is quite appropriate.

The Advent lectionary is quite awesome. I lifted some of Isaiah for my post just the other day:
Prophesy!
