Save The Shared Leadership Model

February 7, 2018 By progressivemax

The premise that every State Senator should have an equal say in the legislative process is at risk. With Rosenberg unlikely to regain his seat as Senate President, a showdown for his seat is imminent. Whether you want a leader who supports building upon the shared leadership model of bringing everyone to the table, or someone who is a staunch progressive (or both!) please contact your senator and let them know your views. This doesn’t happen often, and if we aren’t careful we could end up with the Senate version of DeLeo, who represents neither of those things.

The Senate will keep Harriett Chandler in her role as Acting Senate President. There will be a new Senate President next session..

So Rosenberg kept his seat? It’s interesting that the deferred the leadership battle.

Props to Senator Chandler for agreeing to serve without being a candidate. I keep wondering if she’ll change her mind. She’d have every right to do so.
