Three Questions Certified for November Ballot

July 9, 2018 By Christopher

Secretary Galvin has certified three questions for the November ballot:

Question 1: To see if the Commonwealth will vote to limit the number of patients per nurse.

Question 2: To see if the Commonwealth will go on record opposing Citizens United (not sure how binding this one is or whether we are specifically asking for a Constitutional amendment via the convention).

Question 3: To see if the Commonwealth will vote to retain current law protecting the rights of transgender persons to access public accommodations.

Useless link, here is a better summary.

    Q2:

“If passed, Massachusetts’s top elected officials would appoint members to the 15-person commission, which would go on to research the current campaign finance system and recommend an amendment to overturn Citizens United.”

Q3 wording sounds like a mess.

The thing to remember about Q3 is that a yes will maintain the status quo since it is a referendum rather than an initiative.
