Attend Your Local Caucus

February 1, 2020 By Christopher

Yesterday was the deadline to submit local caucus information to the state party, which is posted on their website.  A few last minute submissions may still be added in the coming days.  Registration opens 30 minutes prior to the announced start time and closes 15 minutes after the announced time.  Caucuses are open to registered and pre-registered Democrats residing in the respective town or ward.  Delegates will be elected according to a predetermined allocations.  The binary genders shall be balanced in the delegation and a unified ballot will be used to elect if there are any non-binary nominees for delegate.  The convention will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell.  (This is not Memorial Day weekend.)  Delegates should expect the convention to be their only plan that day.  The delegates will select either Ed Markey or Joseph Kennedy III as the endorsed candidate for United States Senate.  Since there are only two candidates one of them will be endorsed on a single ballot and I would be shocked if the other did not comfortably clear the 15% required to be placed on the state primary ballot in September.  We are also anticipating breakout sessions and there may be resolutions and charter amendments to vote on.

Thank you, @senjehlen, for cosponsoring HD766/SD1013 and investing in the health and future of our children. Passing #SchoolMealsforAll is key to increasing equitable access to healthy, nutritious food for all students –so no child goes hungry. #FeedKidsMa #mapoli

Another one in the L column for Lyons as his last ditch effort to rid a vote against him (through appeal) fails. #mapoli
