Merrick Garland announced today that he is appointing a “Special Counsel”.
He’s decided to run out the clock rather than fight to save the rule of law. Two years after widespread evidence of a long list of crimes, Mr. Garland chooses to do nothing.
The rule of law in America is dead.

Once again I come to precisely the opposite conclusion. This shows there is a body of work he is ready to hand over that has been developed behind the scenes to a far greater extent than any of us can begin to know. In a case like this you can be fast or you can be right. You seem to want the former while I would much prefer the latter. I’d much rather get airtight convictions later than possible acquittals now. Every former federal prosecutor turned talking head I have heard weigh in believes that Garland is proceeding appropriately and Jack Smith seems made for this job.
