Mayor, you are pushing your luck. The emperor will be completely naked in 2two years. You should have gone out on top.
——————————–
I’m curious if Mike Flaherty lost any real vote numbers because of the Yoon partnership. We do know the Yoon people will show up and vote. And ,the council candidates people will be coming out to vote and many don’t like the mayor.
However many are also jealous. “Why should Mike Flaherty gets this thing? My guy should have it.” So they’ll vote for the mayor so their guy can get in four years.

George “Half-Man” Regan is one smart bastard. He’s like the neighborhood drug dealer. He gave me a taste of publicity and now I am jone-zin. First the Insidae Track. Then a Howie Carr column, then a story about his client Ernie Boch, Jr offering a bounty for my true identity well boasting he will have Howie “terrorize” me “every afternoon.”
Then, because of Half-Mans brilliant P.R. campaign I got my name in a Joan Vennochi column. Quote and all.
But now, the spigot has been turned-off. This is pure hell. I need my fix. Only one thing for me to do. Put “Half-Man Regan” on the pay roll. Grab that monkey, place it right on my back and chase that high again.
BTW. Congrats George “Half-Man” Regan. He is just the second public figure to receive a nick name here. The first of course is Dan “Search and Avoid” Conley. .

Are you making calls for your City of Boston candidate or Senate candidate? If so, and you believe Howie Carr has shown a long and continued pattern of indecency then please print out this list of his sponsors and give them a call and let them know how you feel. There aren’t many names and should be nothing after calling hundreds of voters.

Are House and Senate members aware that the vote taken to replace the Attorney general should a vacancy occur is done by private ballot? That’s right. You can tell the Speaker you did what he wanted and then vote they way u want. Awesome!

Dan Conley should convene a grand jury on the massacre the Bruins served on the Carolina Panthers Saturday night. Holy Moly. The panther trainer had to run out to the ice with a towel to soak up blood five times. FIVE TIMES! Once in a game is a bonus for fans.
Phil Kessel who?

One more thing.
The difference between Ernie Boch, III and Howie Carr is EB3 is a wise ass. Howie Carr is a fresh prick. Huge difference.

I don’t know how representative my wife and I are, but we both voted for Yoon and will probably end up voting for Menino, so I don’t think that Flaherty can count on all of the Yoon voters to automatically go his way.

That should counteract one of your family’s two votes.
<
p>Also, I cannot see anyone who voted for Kevin McCrea voting for Menino. They will either vote Flaherty, blank on Mayor or stay home.
<
p>Finally, given that they dragged Chuck Turner out of city hall in handcuffs, I hope and trust that they will do the same for Kineavy when his time comes. My pick in the pool for which day he will be taken out in handcuffs is Friday, October 30th.
christopher says
Deleting emails hardly rises to the level of bribery, but then again I’m not sure Chuck Turner’s crimes should have been the drag out in handcuffs variety either.
kaj314 says
I feel like this is the tenth time someone has told you their is more here than you are admitting too. The deletion of public records is bad enough, but you are overlooking some big points.
<
p>1. The emails in question started to be deleted during the weeks BEFORE the Wilkerson story broke. Please respond to the timing and if it is just a coincedence.
<
p>2. Dianne Wilkerson had a contact in the mayors office who she believed could “push” things through for her. It is believed that it could have been Kineavy. These emails in question could prove if she was calling in favors and looking for inside access through Kineavy.
<
p>3. They have lied countless times. Dot Joyce and the mayor saying it was a “glitch”, then it was something about “Michael Kineavy doesn’t use email a lot”, then it was because he is a clean freak. We also had Bill Sinott, counsel to the mayor state that Michael Kineavy has had the same computer for 3 + years. Today we learn that Michael Kineavy complained about his computer being slow a few days AFTER the Globe asked for his emails. His computer was magically switched out days later and yet he tries to tell us all that he didn’t know. DOES ANYONE BELIEVE that. Even Pam Wilmot from Common Cause thinks that it is fishy.
<
p>4. As I type this Michael Kineavy has announced he is taking a leave of absence. Why do that if he isn’t guilty?
<
p>Are their unanswered questions, yes. Why? Because the Menino admintration has insuffiently answered questions about this scandal. They have stonewalled at every corner and lied.
<
p>I am supporting Michael Flaherty, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that this looks a lot like a cover up.
christopher says
…that the deletion of emails might have something to do with Wilkerson. She was a state legislator not a city employee which I guess I figured were different spheres. Maybe I haven’t been following this closely enough, but I never thought about these two issues simultaneously. For the record, I’ve thought Wilkerson was bad news for a long time and never figured out how she managed to maintain political support for so long. If this is a matter of destroying evidence pursuant to another investigation then yes, that is more upsetting than someone who is just in the habit of deleting emails which is what I thought this was about. I still think if we really want to prevent this problem in the first place all emails to and from city accounts should automatically be copied to a hard drive. Then people like me who routinely purge their inbox and folders can do so without destroying the messages completely for FOIA and investigative purposes.
kaj314 says
was pretty clear, maybe you didn’t follow it after you posted in it.

somervilletom says
The connection between Ms. Wilkerson and Mr. Kineavy has been all over the news reports, from the very beginning. It was the reason for the Globe’s FIA request, and the Globe has been reasonably clear about that in virtually all of it’s reporting.
<
p>As I’ve posted in other places, it is ludicrous that any government agency is not archiving in-bound and out-bound emails on their own mail server. It’s beyond ludicrous — it creates the appearance, if not the substance, of contempt for the public records laws. The action of any individual should have no impact whatsoever on public records like these.
<
p>Meanwhile, have you not heard of the FBI subpoena of Mr. Kineavy’s records? Have you not been paying attention to the city’s flagrant effort to dance around those subpoenas?
<
p>Let me try and spell it out as I understand it. The allegation, made by both Mr. Turner and Ms. Wilkerson, is that Mr. Kineavy was the person in the administration who collected the payments needed to obtain liquor licenses. Both Mr. Turner and Ms. Wilkerson named him, and both described multiple email contacts with him. Various witnesses have stated that they thought they were helping the FBI put a stop to what they described as flagrant corruption in City Hall — the word on the street has been that to get a liquor license in the City of Boston, you made a “contribution”, and the person who channeled those contributions was Mr. Kineavy.
<
p>THAT is what this entire episode has been about from the beginning.
christopher says
…that I’ve been in the DC area for several months. BMG is the closest I come to keeping up with MA political news. I do, however, stand by previously stated philosophical disagreements on deleting emails per se, though if such deletion can be pegged as conspiracy then that should be enforced.
somervilletom says
This isn’t some late-breaking stunner. The story has been about Mr. Kineavy’s role in improperly awarding liquor licenses from the very beginning.
<
p>Behavior like this is why the public records law exists. The practice of deleting email is, under the law, the same as a practice of shredding notes and documents. It’s illegal, I am under the impression that it’s criminal, and in this case it has had the appearance of conspiracy to obstruct justice from the beginning.
<
p>Mike Capuano, in addition to enthusiastically and aggressively advocating for positions I agree with, is refreshingly separated from all these distasteful entanglements.
<
p>When the indictments begin to rain down on the Menino administration (and they will), the fallout from the early and politically intimate connections between Martha Coakley and the Menino machine will be far less damaging to Massachusetts and the our national agenda if Mike Capuano is our Senator.
sue-kennedy says
Something seemed wrong about dragging Chuck Turner out in handcuff’s after he refused to accept the money offered. Were they attempting to catch or entice? I’ll wait and see, but this doesn’t appear to be the strongest prosecution case.
mike_cote says
Because Kineavy has taken a “leave” in order to spend more time with his family, or um, sorry, to spend more time working on the reelection campaign?!?!
<
p>Why? Because being dragged out of the campaign headquarters in handcuffs will be “Soooooooo” much better than being dragged out of city hall.
<
p>I still say Friday, October 30th, but now it will be from a bunker or undisclosed location. I understand Saddam’s hole in the basement is current vacant.
