November 17, 2009 By massmarrier 16 Comments

"The days of highway expansion in Massachusetts are over," declared Aliosi. Now is the time to act and particularly to level the playing field by developing passenger rail and public transit. He ticked off such benefits as sparking … [Read more...]

Could someone explain why Jim Aloisi shouldn’t resign?

August 11, 2009 By David 43 Comments

Maybe the latest insanity coming out of the Transportation Building isn't as awful as it appears.  But if it's not, someone needs to explain why, and fast.  Otherwise, Jim Aloisi's credibility is shot to hell, and he cannot any … [Read more...]

Things I do not understand about transport reform

February 25, 2009 By Charley on the MTA 71 Comments

It is embarassing for me to say, but I feel like I'm about the least-informed person in the Commonwealth about the gas-tax/toll-hike/transport-reform goat rodeo. I mean, I really do not know what the hell is going on, or why person X … [Read more...]

Blogging the future of transportation in MA

You heard it here first! Jim Aloisi explains transportation reform as “the necessary thing to do”

February 20, 2009 By David 21 Comments

We're not anti-labor.  There will be people downsized when we merge the Turnpike and the Highway Department, and we want to offer people workforce retraining and other initiatives, because we care about people.  But at the same … [Read more...]

Jim Aloisi as exhumer-in-chief

January 5, 2009 By David 15 Comments

One thing that is helpful to me is that he knows where the bodies are buried. And you know, the sad reality is that we have to dig up a lot of those bodies, and bury them properly.... there are some agencies ... where the nickname is that … [Read more...]

What do eggs, lotion, and Slurpees have in common?

All of them have been deemed “dangerous weapons” in courts that made young people ineligible for judicial diversion to community supervision instead of incarceration.

12 senators wanted to keep it that way. #mapoli

Thank you to the 32 senators who voted to expand opportunities for judicial diversion to community supervision instead of incarceration for youth!

Incarceration is not designed for rehabilitation and cannot offer an outcome it's not designed for. #mapoli

More proof that my state representative hates women and LGBTQ+ individuals -- and apparently healthcare providers, too. He needs to go.

Everyone in the district must vote for Emmanuel Dockter for State Representative in November.

Look who voted no on H.4930, a new #ReproductiveRights bill. Shame on DeCoste for voting no on this vital piece of legislation.

We shouldn’t be surprised, though, as he has a history of voting against the fundamental rights of women and LGBTQ+ individuals.

At every level of government, we must have intelligent, thoughtful representation. We have a better chance of achieving this if we have two, truly viable parties, which would allow for the actual challenge & contrast of ideas. #mapoli

According to the @PioneerBoston, #Massachusetts lost over 20,000 residents in 2020. Maybe a positive spin can be put on this, but the reality still must be acknowledged. The cost of living & the lack of political choice are driving people from the state. We need change. #mapoli
