Rule of Law My A**

September 17, 2008 By Mr. Lynne

Taking a cue from the Bush Playbook, Attorney General Talis Colberg of AK indicated that

… the employees would refuse to appear unless either the full state Senate or the entire Legislature votes to compel their testimony.

Get picked for VP and suddenly the cloud you’re under may go away because, heaven forbid, the proceedings could influence the election.

Palin has defended her behavior and said she welcomed the investigation. “Hold me accountable,” she said. But she and the McCain campaign have taken actions that could slow the probe, possibly past Election Day.

Colberg, who was appointed by Palin, said the employees are caught between their respect for the Legislature and their loyalty to the governor, who initially agreed to cooperate with the inquiry but has increasingly opposed it since McCain chose her as his running mate.

Right… party of personal responsibility… hmmmm… more like ‘we’ll take responsibility as long as it doesn’t, you know, actually have any consequences.’

    Here is a concise summary:

    <

    p>

Since Sept. 13, Palin’s unfavorables have climbed from 30 percent to 36 percent. Meanwhile, her favorables have slipped from 52 percent to 48 percent. That’s a three-day net swing of -10 points, and it leaves her in the Sept. 15 Diageo/Hotline tracking poll tied for the smallest favorability split (+12) of any of the Final Four. Over the course of a single weekend, in other words, Palin went from being the most popular White House hopeful to the least.

I heard Keith booberman stating the same fact and I’ll ask you the same thing… how do you go from a favorable rating of 52% to 48% and that is a “-10 point swing”? I don’t think it is fair to add polling question answers together and call it a swing. Maybe they could ask a bunch of other questions and you could get a -100 points swing.

      <

p>BTW, there were a bunch of other polling numbers out yesterday between BO and JM in swing states. Do you give them the same credence you are giving to this favorability poll?

      <

p>Also, the expression “rule of law” reminds me of the statements “I did not have sex with that woman…” and “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is…”

      <

p>Concerning troopergate, it reminds me of the term “cognitive dissonance”. So let me ask the question… If Sarah Palin testified and the committee found her completely “faultless” would that satisfy the blood-hungry hoards or would they simply change their protests from “she is hiding…” to “she was lying” or “it was a cover-up”…? If she wasn’t picked for VP would this hearing be happening and would it be happening NOW?

      <

p>PS How are the Democratically controlled Congress’ favorability rating by the American public?

        52 – 30 = 22
        48 – 36 = 12

        <

        p>22 – 12 = 10 pt swing.

So of a total of 200 points, there was a 10 pt swing or 5% swing. Fine.
