Every time we hear about methane the story gets a little worse, which means the truth will be a lot worse, which is why the industry is pushing hard on natgas now. Recently they’ve taken to calling it “low carbon gas” to keep the focus on CO2. https://twitter.com/GlobalEcoGuy/status/1380914220150181897

Dr. Jonathan Foley@GlobalEcoGuy

Methane has risen by *over 150%* and is accelerating.

For reference, CO2 has risen 50%.

We need to *dramatically* reduce methane emissions to have a chance of keeping the planet below 1.5-2 C. This includes methane from animals, rice, landfills, and the energy industry. https://twitter.com/robbie_andrew/status/1380788370771750913

Methane is increasing at a rate 3 x more than CO2 and will cause 80 x more warming in the next 20 years! Our children are depending on us to act.

We need all-electric buildings
gas transition plans, and
to stop dirty energy infrustructure.

Here's what we know so far about today's unplanned gas release at the Weymouth Compressor -- which, unfortunately, isn't much.
